QuestionI got a rose bush on mothers day, I planted it in a 5 gallon pot. It was doing well for a month. When it hit about the middle of june, it stop growing any new branchs. It didn't even bloom. Can you give me advice on what might of went wrong? Or is everything fine?
AnswerDanielle........Sounds like everything is fine, you just need to make sure that you are feeding/ watering enough . Supply enough sunlight(at least 6 hours).
I usually start with an organic supplement , but a synthetic (granular) is fine. Follow the directions for use and supplement every two weeks with a gallon of liquid fertilizer (Bloom Booster by Miracle Gro is good) Once you have mastered this, it will be time to start a good preventative fungicide schedule. Depending on the heat/rain, you will need to set up a fungicide program of spraying your bush every two weeks. Mix up a gallon of solution, (add half-tablespoon of Miracle-gro powder to increase leaf-growth/foliar feeding). If this is your only bush you can use a small mister bottle.
