QuestionI've heard of a way to make roses last longer before they dry out? Is this true? I believe the procedure that i heard of had something to do with hanging the rose upside down in a freezer or something. I bequethed an ambrosial specimen to my fiance but I want it to stay around simply because it is art in motion and it makes her happy. Never asked a question before but you seem to be the best expert to ask and I thank you so very gratefully for any advice you may be able to return. Again thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Soulmates
AnswerHi Lucas-
Well - I have never heard of putting a rose in the freezer because it might shrivel the rose - but you could definitely try it.
The only way I know of drying roses would be:
a. Hang the rose upside down from the ceiling (usually a hanging plant hook in the ceiling is a good choice). Get a piece of string and tie it around the stem then tie it to the hook. Leave it hanging upside down for at least 2-3 weeks to dry the rose or-
b. Use crystals (from craft shop) used for drying - and put the rose in a bowl of these crystals, for a few days.
Hope this helps!
