QuestionI have been hearing about Once rose food sold by Jackson Perkins. I have been using Bayer with pretty good results but since I have 71 roses the Once would be so much easier. I have heard that the every six weeks food is more effective. What do you suggest? Thanks.

AnswerJane..........I personally follow the schedule of putting a synthetic fertilizer out twice in one season(ie. every six weeks)/an organic out in the fall(mills magic, etc.) .........with sporadic applications of a liquid fertilizer(miracle - gro) to facilitate the blooms for quality and quanity......
Having said all of this.........it is strictly personal ; if Once is a time-saver for you (i understand, we have about 350 roses to feed counting the wholesale order that we "baby" till we sell all of them!).....then by all means try it! I would suggest and encourage you to supplement by using some organics (mills magic, alfalfa meal, composted manure, etc.)for fertility in the soil (most important) and / or a liquid to increase the blooms.
