new rose bush from old

Question
My grandmother has an old and very beautiful type of yellow and pink rose growing in her yard in northwest Texas. We are wondering if it would be possible for me to somehow take a cutting of this bush and transplant it to central Texas and start a bush of my own. Neither of us have ever attempted this sort of thing before, so we would like to know, first of all, if it's possible, and secondly, what steps would be required if it is possible? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Mandi............yes, yes and yes!  I would love a cutting myself!  Very easy.  Take 5 gal. pots (black plastic is just fine) insert your cuttings as deeply as possible and keep the soil (i use organic humus) moist.  Roots can appear as quickly as 4 to 6 weeks.  Over winter in that same pot and the next season you have one of two choices:
you can put in a one or two gallon pot and let the root system grow accordingly..........or  you can plant directly into the ground in a semi-protected spot (no harsh winds, extreme afternoon sun, etc.)
Let me know..........and i am serious ....send me a cutting!         God bless, j.williamson
