Question
I live in michigan i have 2 climbing rose bushes 1 yellow 1 red the red flowers last 1 to 2 weeks the yellow fall off in 2 days.is this normal

Yellow climbers are never as strong and hardy as the pink or red. There is a climber called Golden Showers which will drop its flowers when the weather gets hot. However if the yellow is dropping its flowers too quickly, it could be not enough water. Climbers need 10 gallons of water every 5 days. 10 gallons is 2 buckets full. The water needs to get right down deep. Also roses love cool roots and a thick 6 inchs of mulch solves a lot of problems and dropping blooms is one of them. Plus it makes watering easier as it stays longer. Hope this helps. Lynnette
