QuestionTexas
I put 4 beautiful florabunda's in planters outside our church that had evergreens in them. They look horrible. They are dying? I have used a fertilizer on them and they still look bad. How do I keep them alive?
AnswerRoses will not tolerate root competition and evergreens are greedy feeders and they also take up most of the moisture. It certainly looks nice but you usually run into trouble when you plant them together. If that is the only place for them to go then I would make sure you water them well, especially when it gets very hot, and use MiracleGro rose fertilizer once now and then again in July. Also roses love to have cool roots and putting a mulch of compost, ground bark, or bark mulch, will make them do much better. Hope this helps. Lynnette
