QuestionI live in the very southwest corner of Wisconsin. I received a shipment of blue moon roses by mistake. Can I make them grow here? And what kind of care will they need? Thanks!
AnswerBlue Moon is a hardy hybrid tea but not hardy enough to withstand your bitter winter cold. However you could get them going in the summer and then cut the rose bush back to 12 inches and cover the bush in the late fall, with compost, straw or make a cage of chicken wire and fill it up with dried leaves to see if it will go through the winter. You could also grow it in a pot and store it in an unheated garage for the winter. Blue Moon has a really good fragrance. Hope this helps. Lynnette
