QuestionI am in Michigan, Lansing area, weather has been unseasonably warm (30 degrees or higher), I don't know the type of soil, but I want to transplant a small yew. What is the best time of year to do this?
AnswerHello John
The ideal time to transplant most things is in the fall, although it can be done in the spring. At this time of the year you cannot guarantee that the weather is going to continue to be unseasonably warm - there is still the possibility of some really cold weather! Better to wait a few weeks yet I think.
