QuestionIt is now May, our Holly Bush is covered with what appears to be yellowish flowers...it is about 6 years old and don't recall it ever like this...it looks like it might be dying! Could this be a disease..our second one also is beginning to look the same...
Answer
Holly with pollen
Dear Midge,
Howdy, Hello, and Hi. As a fellow plant enthusiast I am also surprised when a plant does something that I haven't seen before. The yellowish small flowers you see are most likely Holly Pollen. This is a great sign that your Holly bush has decided to sprout pollen and make berries.
I think you should take pride in knowing your Holly bushes are doing great.
Here is a photo of Holly Pollen so that you feel at ease that were on the same page.
