QuestionThis winter, that's what they did. I don't know what to do - cut them down now, or wait and see if they recover? I've received conflicting advice. "Cut them down and new shoots will come up". (the bushes are 15 years old, I don't know if I have 15 more years to wait!) "They're tough, they'll leaf out, they'll be fine". What would you advise as to the possible ramifications of rabbit damage? Thank you.
AnswerHello Sally
If the rabbits have eaten the bark off all round the stems they will definitely die! Sorry!
If, however, there are stems where some of the bark is intact it may be possible to revive the plants by cutting below the rabbit damage - its worth a try, though I can't guarantee the results.
Good luck
