QuestionCan crotons grow out doors in South Carolina. We do have some cold winters. I use to lived in Florida and they grew plentiful down there.
AnswerHello Dee
Crotons do not like fluctuations in temperature and are damaged by cold. For this reason they are restricted to central Florida if grown outside.
They can, of course, be grown inside, in pots containing a lime-free compost (ericaceous) and then put outside on a patio in the summer, where they will do well as long as they get regular watering and a feed of something like azalea fertilizer. Place in full sun or partial shade for best effect.
