Questionwhen is it safe to transplant azalias..mine are in bloom now and have to be moved
AnswerHello Michele
If your plants really have to be moved as soon as possible, wait until they have finished flowering at the earliest. Water them well and give them a feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer immediately after moving them - this will help them to recover quickly from transplant shock. Also water throughout the rest of the growing season, especially during any dry spells you may have.
If you can wait until the fall to transplant, so much the better as the plants will be going into their dormant phase then and will not suffer so much from transplant shock.
