QuestionHi I have a tibouchina aged 10 years, has always grown beautiful each year, it is march here in Sydney, and everyday it droops heaps leaves and flowers, I water it and gave it a water agent, but next day the same again, I cant see any other problem with it. it has always been watered at least 2 times a week, and now this. please advice.
AnswerHello Leslee
My feeling here is that you may be over watering this plant. It is always tempting to water a plant when the weather is hot, but it's extraordinary how many plants are killed by over watering, rather than under watering!
You haven't said whether the plant is in the ground or in a pot, so I'm assuming its in the ground, and I'd advise giving the watering a rest for 10 days and see if things improve. If they do (and they should) begin watering again, but only about once every 7 to 10 days - the soil needs to be kept damp, not water-logged!! Also bare in mind that a plant that has been in the ground for ten years should have a well developed root system and be perfectly capable of finding its own water.
Good luck
