QuestionI brought my two potted oleander plants inside for the winter. I live in Bella Vista, Arkansas. One of them is just fine and even sprouted a few blooms inside. The other one's trunk and branches are covered with a white, fuzzy substance that comes off on your finger if you wipe it. Can you tell me what this is and what to do for it? I do not want to lose this plant.
Thank you.
AnswerHello again Gloria
I've been doing a bit of research on Oleander over the weekend and have discovered that one of the problems they get is a pest called Mealy Bug when they are grown inside and this sounds very much like the problem your plant has. You can spray with malathion or insecticidal soap control the problem. Both of these remedies should be readily available from a garden center.
Hope this is of some help.
