QuestionI just purchased a loropetulum. I am concerned about how large it might get. Can it be pruned to stay maybe 4 ft wide and 5ft tall? I am putting it in a landscaped area....don't mind it getting somewhat large cause it is a larger area but don't want it to take over
AnswerHello Debbie
Thank you for your question.
Loropetulum grow to about 6' x 6'. They can be gently trimmed back after flowering, but heavy pruning isn't recommended, though you can remove a stem or two if they are spoiling the look of the plant. Old or damaged stems can be removed in mid spring.
This is a lovely small(ish) tree and I hope it grows well for you and that you get years of pleasure from it.
