QuestionQUESTION: I have 29 evergreens (type I am not sure of) they are 28 years old and only recently have become brown on the bottoms next to my neighbors property. i was wondering what could cause this, i know my new neighbor hates them but, they are part of my landscape and truly would like to save them. please help me thanks for your time

Without knowing the exact type of evergreen that you have, it is difficult to diagnose the exact problem. But from the description, it sounds like they may have been damaged from a lawn application of herbicide. Does your neighbor use a lawn service? If not, then I would urge you to contact a tree care company to inspect the plants.
I would recommend fertilization this fall to help strengthen the trees and encourage them to replace the growth that was damaged.

QUESTION: a quick reply, they are yues, (?) I do believe you are right b/c where my trees are dying so is the grass next to them. is there anything i can do now that would help?

Haevy watering is the only thing that you can do in a situation like this. you will have to try to wash the herbicide out of the area of the roots. Fertilize them in the fall and again in the spring to encourage new growth.
