Red Twig Dogwood

Question
I have a variegated red twig dogwood that has overgrown its location.  When would be a good time to transplant it?
Any special instructions for doing so?
Thank you!

Answer
Joyce,

I would recommend transplanting in the mid to late fall or late winter, early spring. When you dig it up, try to keep as large a root ball as you can handle, the more roots you can preserve, the easier the plant will be able to re-establish it's root system. Add a root stimulator to the soil when you move it, this will also help the plant.

Good luck,
