QuestionI live in Dallas Texas and have dug up and transplanted some established 3' high holly bushes to a new bed. I used root stimulator and have watered regularly in well drained soil. I have even given them some miracle grow topsoil & food, but they look like they are absolutely frying! They are quickly turning crispy brown and losing all of their green leaves. I fear I cut away too much of the root system. If I cut back the shrubs, I will only have sticks. How can I save them?
AnswerDonna,
I am afraid that there is little that you can do to save these plants. If the plants haven't responded to the root stimulator by now, I do not think they will. In the future, wait until the fall to move plants such as this- moving plants in the spring is very risky.
