Questionwe purchased a large endless summer hydrangea late summer last year and were excited to have it in our garden. we did everything the nursery told us to do regarding planting it --mulch food etc. we placed it in a rather shady area in our garden but noticed that our next door neighbor has a big viable plant growing nicely in approximately the same location. anyway. i cut the stems down quite low last fall and this spring we noted that the plant had migrated upwards and has yet to show any new growth. we fertilized it and spread lime on the plant to facilite growth w/ pink blossoms it is now 2 weeks later and still no new grow or other visible changes please help can we save this plant or should we just give up and try again thanks for your help
AnswerShirley,
I am not sure where you are writing from, but I think that you can find all the answers you are looking for at http://www.usna.usda.gov/Gardens/faqs/hydrangeafaq2.html This website will tell you all you ever wanted to know about Hydrangeas.
From what I have read, it sounds like the plant may be a goner.
Good luck,
