QuestionI have several evergreen topiary trees in my front year that are about 3 years old. They are very healthy but each time we prune them, the tips turn brown. What are I doing wrong? I use electrical pruning scissors. Help!
AnswerClara,
You are using electric pruning shears- that is what you are doing wrong. These types of pruners, while they are easy to use, can do more damage to the plant by ripping branches and damaging the foliage that is remaining.
I would recommend taking a little bit longer and pruning them by hand. This will stop any collateral damage.
Good luck,
