leland cypress

Question
i just bought two leland cyrpress trees and one of them has some dead spots on it and the grower said it was because it blew over into some water for a day but will come back.  i am watering them everyday for atleast 10 mins or so with the hose at the bottom of the base.  i planted similar trees last year in the same spot and all eleven died.  aside from feeding them with the granular feed which i did yesterday, is there something else i can do to encourage them to grow healthy?  am i watering enough?   thank you

Answer
Dawn,

Depending on the soil texture, you may need to water more. If the soil is clay like- maintain your current watering. If it is sandy, I would recommend watering longer but skipping a day between waterings.

Besides the feeding and a good watering schedule, there is nothing more that you can do.

Good luck,
