QuestionI have some small barberrys. I thought the leaves are supposed to be a dark green to deep purple red. Mine have bright grren leaves more the color of a boxwood. Is this a soil related condition that I can treat?

Are you sure that it is not just the new growth emerging? New growth is normally bright green that darkens as they age.
If it is not the new growth, then it could be a stress problem or lack of macro or micro nutrients in the soil. Have a soil test done on the soil in the area to determine what the nutritional needs are.
