QuestionMy 12 yr old Japanese Maple tree has what I have been told is a fungus which is yellow in color, growing on some/most of the branches. I was told to use a funguside, but the one that was recommended is not suitable for Red Maple. What should I do or use.
AnswerDiane,
The only "fungus" that I can think of that would be on the libs of a Japanee Maple is actually the fruiting bodies of a wood rot disease which is interanl to the tree and cannot be controled. I would recommend calling a certified arborist in your area to look at the tree and determine what is going on exactly.
Good luck,
