QuestionThe leaves on my lemon tree are turning yellow and dropping off. What can I do to remedy this. I still have fruit on the tree as well as setting fruit for the next season. My other citrus trees nearby do not have this problem.
AnswerKarin,
Without know a few details leading up to the leaves becoming yellow, I am hard pressed to give you a good answer. Is the tree outside? Did you have a warm period of weather, followed by a freeze. This is the most prevalent cause of damage this spring. Did you check the tree for Aphid activity? Look under the leaves for tiny insects they can be green or brown. If you find them, treat them with a registered insecticide.
In either case, keep up with proper fertilization and watering for the tree to encourage it to replace the damaged leaves.
Good luck,
