QuestionHi, I have recently bought a "spirex flamingo" and cannot find any info on it at all. I was wondering if you knew how large it grows, wheteher it is upright or weeping and generally how to care for it. I would appreciate anything you can suggest. Thank you, Mrs Hibbert.
AnswerSharon,
I have never heard of spirex, but I ame up with several possible plants that it could be. They are:
Spiraea- A deciduous shrub with a rounded growth habit that can grow up to 5 feet high.
Styrax or Japanese snowbell- can grow up to 30 feet, deciduous, has a 1/2 long fruit that emerges in August
Pieris Japonica or Andromeda- an evergreen, can grow up to 12 feet tall
I would recommend that if the plant is not an evergreen, to wait for the leaves and take one to your local garden center for proper identification.
Good luck,
