I just ordered privit hedges When they arrived some hedges had dark brown spots on them. Should I send them back? Why did this happen? Thank You. Lynda Early Long Island New York

It is a good bet that the privets have leafspot. While this disease will not kill the plant, it will weaken it and allow secondary insects and diseases that may kill the plants.

I would recommend sending the disesed ones back and having them replaced with healthier ones.
