QuestionI planted 35 arbor vitae plants at my sister house on Cape Cod as a border to her neighbor. They are turning gold or brownish on the neighbors side but are green and healthy looking on my sisters side. What should we do?
Thanks
Jerry
AnswerJerry,
Are the Arbs treated on your side? It sounds like they may have been attacked by mites on the nieghbors side.
I would recommend spraying both sides next year with miticide in the late spring and fertilizing them this fall and again in the spring to help them recover from the damage.
Good luck.
