Question
Is is possible to bonsai a mature mugo pine that is about 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide?  It's gotten too big for the site and it's close to the house, I hate to lose it and would love to cut it down and give it a different look instead of the unkempt clump that it is in right now.  Thank you for your help.

Yes, it is possible to bonsai this tree. My nephew has been doing bonsai for several years and he has worked with a wide variety of plants, some over 60 years old. I would read up on the art of bonsai, or better yet, attend some lectures at a local bonsai club to get advise on how to proceed with this project.
