QuestionI live in Maryland and have five Hopi Crepe Myrtles in containers. I planted them last year and they bloomed, but this year, they have not bloomed yet. I overwintered them on our south facing porch and in the spring, moved them to our north facing deck, which receives sun all day. It is the end of July and they still have not bloomed. What could cause them to not bloom?
AnswerJoy,
When did you prune them last year? Was it after late August? This could be the reason that they did not flower this year. I would recommen dthat you check out the website for the Virginia Cooperative Extension at http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/nursery/430-451/430-451.html
This should give you some further insight.
Good luck.
