QuestionI bought a rose of sharon last week.It is in a 3 gallon pot. I haven't planted it yet,but have it in fs and keep it well watered. However its leaves are all turning yellow and dropping. What am I doing wrong? We have had ungodly triple digit temps...and we don't have much humidity..Does this need some nutrient, often? Is there anything you can suggest to help keep it alive? I don't want to lose this plant.
Thanks a bunch

AnswerWendy,
I would recommend getting into the ground ASAP. It sounds like the plant is going into shock and requires fertilizer and stability.
If a plant stays inside for too long, it will find it difficult to acclimate to the outside temps and conditions.
When you plant it, amend the soil with some compost and apply a granular fertilizer to the root zone. Mulch the plant to protect the roots and keep it well watered.
Good luck.
