Question yes Gary,
could you please help me. I love the rose of sharon bush. I just bought new one. but since i put it in the ground the leaves are turning yellow. it is july here the early part. so could you tell me what is wrong? I live in Chesapeake va, I have the plant for only a week. it is about 4' tall and about 4' wide. very skinny looking bush. not as full as i would like it. is there anything i could do about that?
AnswerMary,
Have you been watering it everyday? A newly transplanted shrub requires alot of water for the first few months especially if planted during the summer.
Water it with a soaker hose for at least 45 minutes a day until the weather cools back down.
Put down a low nitrogen granular fertilizer to help stimulate root development.
Besides these two things, there is nothing that can be done excapt to wait and hope the plant recovers from the transplant shock that it is in.
Good luck.
