My Hydrangia has never bloomed.

Question
I recieved my Hydrangia from my Mother. She has passed away so I can't ask her why my Hydrangia never has bloomed in years.
I have moved it, but no success. I have now moved, and it looks better than it ever has. It' big but still no flowers! I have it in an east location, it gets only morning sun. It wilts and I water it nearly eveyday.
I have furtilized it with miracle grow a couple times. I really want to keep this plant because it was my Mom's :) Hope you can help. Thanks Dorothy

Answer
Dorothy,
Miracle gro is the wrong wrong fertilizer to use if you want the plant to bloom. High nitrogen fertilizers will interfere with the blooming of Hydrangeas.
I would not recommend moving it any more, it sounds like it is in transplant shock, which will also stop blooming.
I would recommend thinning the plant out to conserve water and fertilizing it with a low nitrogen fertilizer to encourage root growth.
Do not prune it in the fall, Hydrangeas flower off of the old wood.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.
