Question i have planted some texas sage (leucophyllum frutescens) to close to my deck and would like to move them. can this be done and if so when is the best time and the best way to move them. they have been in the ground almost 3 years now.
we live northeast of austin texas.
AnswerDonna,
I would recommend waiting until the fall or early winter or once the weather has cooled back down. Transplanting them now would require that you water them almost constantly going into the summer.
Try to dig up a large root ball on all the plants and have the new site prepared so they can go right into their new home.
Fertilize them about 2 weeks before you plan to move them to make sure they are as healthy as possible.
Good luck.
