QuestionHi Ed! We just moved into a new house and we have 3 dwarf winged euonymus shrubs in the front of our house and they get a lot of sun. We live in CT. They are growing very tall and blocking part of our front window. I was wondering if it's o.k. to trim them, and if so, what's the best way to trim them? They aren't supposed to look "boxy" like a boxwood bush-right? Is there a certain time of year you're supposed to trim them? Thanks. Beth
AnswerBeth,
You can trim them back at anytime of the year, and you are right, they are not supposed to be boxy. Try to selectively prune them back to maintain their natural shape or you can round them out. I do not recommend taking a hedge trimmer to them. This can cause more damage than it is worth.
Good luck
