QuestionWe planted our arborvitas last spring. They seemed to be doing well untill now. Some of the trees have started to wilt on one side of plant about a week ago I noticed. Now one of the trees are turning brown and the rest are slowly following suite. We have be getting a lot of rain. I am not sure what may be wrong. We live in Iowa and have had large temperture changes lately. Do you have any ideas what may be wrong
AnswerErika,
It is difficult to say what could be happening to the Arborvitae without seeing the conditions that they are growing in.
To be wilting on one side normally indicates that they were either sprayed on that side or that something was dumped on the soil on the effected side.
I would recommend that you contact an arborist in your area to come out and evaluate them first hand. They would be better able to diagnose the problem than I could.
Good luck.
