QuestionI bought a house four years ago. The back of my lot has 30 foot tall blue spruce trees. My rear neighbor has a snow plowing and landscaping business. He stores salt and chemicals 25 feet from my trees. The run off ponds around my trees. The trees that get the runoff have died. What causes blue spruce trees that are huge, trumpet vines and maple trees to die? The blue spruce are PINK this spring! This is a neighbor from hell! I told him to control his drainage and store chemicals elsewhere. HELP and ADVICE! thanks, kathy
AnswerKathy,
No matter on what state you live in, all chemicals must be stored the same way, this is federally mandated by the EPA. I would call you state's Department of Environmental Conservation or Environmental Protection and report this individual. The run off from his poor storage practices are doing more than killing your trees- they are also polluting the environment. Once the State gets invovled, he will probably be looking at stiff fines and possibly some jail time, depending on how poor his storage practices are. There is also room for a possible civil suit against him for the death of the trees.
Good luck.
