QuestionI live in Atlanta ,GA. I have some azaleas, boxwoods, and some perrinials. What type of fertilizer should I put on them this time of year? Is there a fertilizer that can pretty much be used on flowers and perrenials, and one I can use for shrubs?
AnswerPaul,
I would recommend using Muracid or Hollytone or any other type of fertilizer designed for evergreens on the azaleas and boxwoods. For the perrenials, you can use any non acidic fertilizer that is low in nitrogen. At this time of the year, we should be looking to promote stronger root growth through the winter months and not top growth.
You can pick these fertilizers up at your local garden center.
Thanks for the question.
