QuestionHow do I prune a rhododendron shrub? The one in question is mature, about 2mX2m, and has been allowed to grow without being shaped. Because of garden alterations it needs to be better contained.
Many thanks.
Answerhi Ernest
the one in three method is generally the one to use, removeing all the old and dead wood first, then the limbs that are close or crossing to each other. never cut half a limb to solve a shaping problem always take the whole thing right back to its origin. new growth will start from the strongest limb. Good Luck Larry :-)
