QuestionI'm looking for some shrubs or small trees to plant along my back fence line. I had to remove the oleanders that were there do to the fact that they are poisonous to horses (and humans). But now my neighbor is able to see into my backyard (we are lower than them). I don't want the shrubs or trees to be over 25 feet tall. But I do need them fast growing. My number one priority is that they are NOT poisonous to horses. Any ideas? I live in the Vista, CA. area.
Thank you for your time.
Answerhi linda
a fence wont do? in your area your request is difficult, however you could try some type of cypress or a vine that makes a wall like ivy. take a trip down to the nursery and look for things of this type. i would suguesst something like cypress because it is similar to the arborvite fast growing and provides a good screen how ever the soil ph is critical to that species. fast growing is going to be the problem. there is realiy nothing that will give you an instant solution everything takes time. go with something you like and stick to the size and shape of your selection
to get the effect you wish Good Luck Larry ;-)
