Question
What shrubs will grow and fill in to provide 6 or 8 ft. of privacy in a few years, in mid NJ, under a line of very tall pine trees with very little sun? Soil is acidic, covered with needles, dry and has a lot of pine roots.
We are stumpted.

Hi Bill
if the location is under pine trees your choice is a bit limited. About the only thing i can suguest is arborvite
which is more pine, or maybe rhododendron but that will take a very long time to reach that height. How about a privacy fence.   Larry  ;-)
