Questionhave 20 up right yews in a row, about 20 years old.like to have a back hoe dig them up and plant them in another part of my yard. Is the yew plant a hardy plant? Would I be wasting my time in this adventure? Thanks for your information
AnswerJoyce,
I think you would be wasting money using the backhoe. These are going to be hard transplant because of age and size. Contact a local nursery or landscape maintenance company and see if moving these plants with a tree spade would be in your budget. The tree spade would maintain the root structure much better than the backhoe. It might prove to be $$$$.
Good luck
