trimming oleanders

Question
I have some oleanders in my yard that look healthy but haven't seemed to grow much the last couple years. If I trim them back will that help them get larger? The highest is 7 ft tall the others are smaller. They are about 10 years old. The soil has a lot of clay in it.

Also will the cuttings root to make new plants?
I wanted them tall since we live on a gravel road.
There are a lot of oleanders in the area that are much bushier and taller then mine.
We live in a #8 area.
Thanks

Answer
As I live in Minnesota, and these dont grow here, I know nothing about them. however, there are many types of Oleanders, do you have one planted that only grows to 7 feet tall? I dont know much about them, but I do know that many plants have a large variety of cultivars, which grow to different heights and sizes. if yours are only suppose to get 7 feet tall, then thats it, they wont get any larger. you can try and trim them for shape, this will help them look better, but I dont know if it will get them to grow any larger. good luck, and try and find out what the cultivar is, and how large it is to get.
