QuestionMark, I'm tempted to transplant some potentilla (wrong sp. I'm sure) shrubs that I already have to another location. I've had these shrubs for a few years now, and they are leaning forward looking for more sunlight. The location I want to plant them in is in front of another house (more sun) but are exposed to road salt in the winter, they would be planted about 15-20 ft. away from the road. What are there chances for survival? If they wouldn't work, what kind of shrubs would? I don't want something where I have to fuss with. Thanks C.C.
AnswerC.C. correct spelling. Potentillas like a lot of sun, and as a rule are hard to kill. I believe they will work just fine that far from the road, and will thrive if the area has a lot of sun. thats a long way from the road, and probably wont get a lot of salt on them. I have seen many more finicky plants a lot closer to the road and they do fine, Potentillas are easy to grow, and hard to kill.
Good luck
Mark
