QuestionI live in Richmond, VA.
My landscape design calls for Otto Lukyen Laurels and my supplier is having a hard time getting them.
Could you give me several options to substitute for this shrub. I will be planting some in front of a mass planting of Annabelle Hydrangae and the others are under windows in front of my house.
Thank you !
AnswerHi Karen
Your supplier may be having dificulty finding a big enough one for you to plant not that he can,t find them, however
i would not give up on the ones recomended at first until all options are taken. in order for me to help you i would have to look at your design to recomend something. however
the ones recomended (Laurels) are more than one vaiiety so i would substitute one other of the same species maybe just a different color or shade to acomodate the design.
also you might want to do a little searching yourself try
looking at online gardens like Wayside, gurneys, white flower farm, spring hill, or maybe bluestone perrennials
they sell unusual species of shrub. Good Luck Larry ;-)
