QuestionMy husband and I live in Surry, VA. We want to outline our drain field with a flowering shrub, but we need something with a rooting system that will not cause future problems in the drain field. Can you make any suggestions?
AnswerHi Priscilla
most of the shrubs will not be a problem, its the trees that cause the concern. find something you like that adapts well to the enviromental conditions in your area
based on you taste and purpose in the landscape. something flowering i would suguest things like forsythia and lilac, something evergreen with berries i would suggest a cottoneaster. Good Luck larry ;-)
