QuestionThis is more of an "anti shrub" question, but I hope you can help. I live in central OK, and have a tree (I think it's a white mulberry) that keeps trying to grow through my fence and will eventually damage it? How can I get rid of it?
Every year, i cut it off as close to the ground as I can. Each year it comes back bigger than before. This year it is about 15 feet high, with mulitple trunks, up to 4 inches thick.
Is there some way to get rid of it before it does serious damage to my fence?
Thanks
Jo
AnswerHi Jo,
You will need to cut the tree down to the stumps and apply a weed and brush killer. More than one application will likely be needed. The best time to apply is while the tree is in active growth. Short of applying a herbicide you will need to grind out the trunk.
