QuestionWe have two Blue Spruce trees approximately 30 feet from a golf green - would you guess that the roots of the tress extend as far as the golf green.
AnswerNo. At maturity the tree will have a spread of about 15 feet and the roots will spread out about the same. At the most the roots will extent maybe 20-25 feet from the trunk. But these are feeder roots and small on the out edge. This tree has a tap root and this is the main root of the root system. I would not think the roots will get anywhere near the golf green.
