Question
Tree in Front Yard Tree in Front Yard wit
Hello,
I have a couple questions about a tree I have in my front yard. I am concerned with it and hope you can help.
I do not know what type of tree it is and what is wrong with it.
Some of the leaves on the top right side of the tree started dying. I took some up close pictures of the bad leaves to show and I also took a picture up close of a good leave to hopefully help you identify it.
About 90% of the tree is in excellent shape. It is planted in clay soil, and grass surrounds the base. It is about 5 yrs old.
Look at the pictures I attached.
If you could help me in identifying what is wrong with it and how to treat it I would be grate full.
I do apply bayer tree and shrub feed and protect in April to all my trees. It is the liquid type. I do follow the directions.
Thank You.
AnswerHello Steve:
A few things:
1. Have you applied or any neighbors applied any lawncare treatments to your turf this season? Weed and feed products can drift and cause damage that looks like this.
2. It also may be a bacterial disease. Bacterial Leaf Scorch can cause patterns like this. Unfortunately there isn't much of a treatment for it. The best you can do is to prune off the affected area.
