Cypress trees

Question
Recently planted 4 Cypress trees ranging in height around 3 foot high in the middle of my pond.  I thought it would look really nice if I had trees growing in the middle of my pond.  I received them with no leaves but after several weeks the leaves started to grow.  At the time my pond had dried out and only moist soil remain.  Now that we have had several days of rain the pond is full and I can no longer see the Cypress trees.  I think they may be under at least 3 feet of water possibly more?  My question is will they survive or is it obvious they are dead by now?  Its been month since they been underwater and the pond water is receding by still no sign of the Cypress tress yet.

Answer
Cypress trees tolerate short periods of deep flooding, particularly during the winter, but cypress seedlings usually cannot withstand more than a month of total submergence. I would think they would not survive under the water. They need to be tall enough for some foliage to grow above the water line to keep growing. Sorry!
