Question
I live in the Phoenix area. I have four Raywood Ash trees. Two seem to be doing well. One is ok and te other has no leaves. There are buds on the branches but is that tree dead or just stressed from the cold weather we have been having? Thank you for your advice. I can send pictures if needed.

Most Hardwood trees ash being one of them will drop their leaves in the winter. IF the tree had leaves in the summer and dropped the leaves this Fall it is ok. The genetic makeup of a tree will determine when the leaves are dropped some will drop the leaves early in the Fall other seem to hold on longer. I would wait until Spring and I think the tree will bud out new leaves.  Sounds normal to me.
